FaithInvest celebrates participation in UN digital summit

FaithInvest is proud to announce its participation in a digital summit event put together in part by the United Nations Environment Programme and the UN Development Programme.

Spread across three days of October, the Nature for Life Hub hosted numerous digital events featuring champions, mobilisers, leaders and speakers seeking to inspire and engage global audiences. Broadcast live and available online after the Hub, the event sought to highlight and discuss 'specialist topics, practical solutions and ambitious actions that are paving a path towards a nature-positive future.'

With a programme featuring dozens of partners and collaborators, each of the event's days took on a different focus. Day one (Monday October 4) highlighted 'the urgent need to protect and restore nature, safeguard the rights of Indigenous peoples, celebrate local action, and put nature at the heart of sustainable development'; day two (Tuesday 5) focused on the task of transforming how the planet's citizens grow and trade commodities; and day three (today) draws attention to the challenge of creating nature-positive public and private finance.

FaithInvest played its part on days two and three, firstly as a partner of the UN's SEED initiative – a global partnership for action on sustainable development and the green economy. Our participation came as an extension of partnership in last year's Green Entrepreneurship MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), which reached participants from 165 different countries.

Day three saw FaithInvest's ambitious Faith Plans for People and Planet initiative highlighted in the 'Toward a Nature-Positive Future' sessions. The Faith Plans initiative is an unprecedented channeling of multi-faith energies to address the urgent global need for action on climate change, bringing together faith communities from around the world.

All of the Hub's session recordings, agenda, speakers list and presentations will soon be available via the UNDP's Learning for Nature website.
