This year was already shaping up to be a significant year for the Catholic Church, even before the death of Pope Francis on Easter Monday ushered in the start of a new era – that of Pope Leo XIV.

This year marks is the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’, the groundbreaking encyclical issued by Pope Francis. It is also a Jubilee Year in the Catholic Church (a time of spiritual renewal and grace celebrated every quarter of a century). These reasons are why we decided to make Catholic investing the topic of our June quarterly Faith-consistent Investing (FCI) forum.

And we've got some fantastic speakers – including the President of Vatican Bank – who will share how Laudato Si', Catholic Social Teaching and Mensuram Bonam, published in 2022 as a call to action by the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, are shaping faith-driven approaches to finance and investment in Catholic institutions.

Our speakers are:

  • Jean-Baptiste de Franssu, President of the Institute for the Works of Religion (known as the Vatican Bank)

  • John O'Shaughnessy, Treasurer & CIO of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary and co-founder of the Catholic Impact Investing Collaborative (CIIC).

  • Petra Vujakovic, Impact Investments Manager for the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (known as the Cabrini Sisters).

We will look at how the landscape of Catholic investing is changing and what the key barriers and opportunities are for Catholic investors seeking to align their faith values and investments, including the actions arising from the recent Mensuram Bonam conference in London. We'll also benefit from the very practical knowledge and experience of our speakers who are faced with the daily challenges of putting FCI into practice for their institutions.

And we will explore the concrete actions Catholic investors can take, such as developing a structured framework to integrate Catholic Social Teaching more explicitly into their investment decision-making process and connecting with other Catholic investors who are successfully implementing faith-consistent investing strategies.

It promises to be an inspiring and energetic discussion – and we can't wait to begin!

The FCI Quarterly Forum is on Thursday June 5, at 10am New York/3pm London. Click below to reserve your place.
